The Witched Fairy's turn came next “The Princess shall be fair and beautiful and have the wit of an angel, indeed, but come her eighteenth birthday she shall die having pricked her finger upon spindle.” She smiled in delight of the crowds’ reaction and with an evil menacing laugh she was gone.
At that very instant a Good Fairy came forwarded and spoke:
"Assure yourselves, O King and Queen that your daughter shall not die of this disaster. It is true; I have not the power to undo entirely what my elder has done. The Princess shall indeed prick her finger upon a spindle; but, in place of dying, she shall fall into a profound sleep, one that shall last a hundred years. At the end the King’s son shall come to awaken her with a kiss."
